This session examines how pavement foundation materials respond to moisture exposure, environmental cycling, and loading conditions relevant to in-service performance. Presentations address viscoelastic response and strength recovery under moisture-dependent behavior, soaking effects on cementitiously stabilized materials, durability under combined freeze–thaw and wet–dry cycles, and plate-load approaches for deriving foundation moduli. Rather than treating foundation properties as fixed inputs, the papers highlight their variability and sensitivity to testing and environmental conditions.
