Mohsin Ali is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University and a member of the GeoPavement Research Group. His work centers on pavement engineering, with a particular focus on mechanistic–empirical (ME) design and performance prediction of rigid pavements. Under the supervision of Dr. Syed Waqar Haider, Mohsin contributes to research projects sponsored by agencies such as the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), helping develop and calibrate local pavement design models that better reflect regional traffic, climate, and material conditions.
Alongside his research responsibilities, Mohsin is strengthening his background in statistics, numerical methods, and data analytics to support more rigorous pavement performance modeling and interpretation. As part of the GeoPavement Research Group, he is committed to advancing state of the art pavement design practices and helping transportation agencies implement durable, economical, and sustainable pavement solutions.
