Dr. Michele (Mike) Lanotte is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University. His research focuses on pavement design, life-cycle assessment, and the performance of sustainable geomaterials. He leads projects on recycled and lightweight fill materials, flood-resilient infrastructure, and mechanistic-empirical design frameworks for unbound layers.
Dr. Lanotte has managed or contributed to more than $3.6 million in research funded by FHWA, MnDOT, MDOT, and WisDOT.
Before joining MSU, he was an Assistant Professor at Khalifa University (UAE) and a Postdoctoral Fellow at MSU. He holds a Ph.D. in Environment and Land Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where he also completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering.
